Knowledge Exchange Network

Funding (ca. £3m) has been secured from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Scottish Government, Scottish Funding Council, Scottish Enterprise and ETP Member Universities to establish a Knowledge Exchange (KE) Network. This will catalyse and accelerate KE activity between academia and SMEs, thereby increasing innovation, advancing the development of the low carbon economy in Scotland and supporting Scotland, UK and the EU to meet ambitious 2020 low carbon targets.

The KE Network will comprise a total of 19 posts (funded for a period of 3 years) providing the necessary continuity, critical mass and breadth of technology focus that will result in a step change in energy related KE activity, across all of ETP’s 9 Thematic Areas.

The Network includes Technology Transfer Managers and Business Development Managers. Technology Transfer Managers will provide direct technical support to companies (both short and longer term) in their specific Thematic Area and will also have access to funding for commissioning other specialist services (e.g. modeling, simulations etc) to support industry needs. Business Development Managers will work with companies and relevant business intermediaries to proactively explores opportunities for new collaborative links with ETP and where appropriate indentify and source funding.

There is NO COST to companies that wish to work with these Technology Transfer and Business Development Managers.
