Evaluation of the performance of Thermoelectric Modules for Energy Scavenging

This project aims to critically assess the suitability of commercial thermoelectric modules working as Peltier effect heat pumps in various stages of the processes in a large-scale thermal power plant. The work will also investigate possible enhancements to the thermodynamic efficiency of the Rankine cycle and means of reducing the energy rejected to the environment. A key project objective is to determine the optimum drive regime for arrays of TE modules with variable Coefficient of Performance.
