About the ETP Knowledge Exchange Network (KEN)

ETP increases SME capability in low carbon technical innovation and makes it easier for SMEs and universities to connect through the Knowledge Exchange Network (KEN). KEN offers Scottish SMEs access to resources including project funding to work with Scottish universities on low-carbon innovation projects.

The KEN is now in its third phase and will run until 31 March 2022. KEN Phase III will catalyse and accelerate KE activity between academia and industry, thereby increasing innovation, advancing the development of the low carbon economy in Scotland and supporting Scotland, UK and the EU to meet ambitious low carbon targets.

The KEN includes a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) who work with companies and relevant business intermediaries to proactively explore opportunities for new collaborative links with ETP and where appropriate identify and source funding. The BDMs provide continuity, critical mass and breadth of technology focus that will result in a step change in energy related KE activity, across all of ETP’s Thematic Areas.

This work is made possible by funding from the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF).
