Wednesday 24th January 2018
On Wednesday 24th January in Glasgow ETP will be holding the first workshop in the new ETP theme, “Energy, People & Society”. The workshop will be chaired by Prof Karen Turner, Head of the Centre for Energy Policy at Strathclyde, and who is the ETP Theme Coordinator.
The new Scottish Energy Strategy has stirred much interest and debate, not only in its content, but also in its ramifications: what innovation will be needed to deliver on its ambitions? Who will carry it out?
This workshop will create interest groups formed around the questions and challenges arising from the strategy, with an aim to develop action plans around specific areas of common interest. We intend for this theme to be genuinely cross-cutting, so we would wish to see the workshop open to a wider participation.
The idea of taking a question-driven approach and opening the workshop to a wider participation is that it is in considering questions that are currently arising that we will determine areas for potential focus and formation of question-driven sub-groups. Membership (and leadership) of sub-groups will depend on the question addressed, allowing us to identify and fill gaps from across the ETP community and beyond.
In addition, there will be the chance to discuss the upcoming ETP Energy Industry Doctorate Programme call in relation of the EPS theme, and the opportunities it presents.
