Speakers:
Laura Finlay, Business Development Manager
Laura is the Business Development Manager for Energy Efficiency in Buildings. For the last 8 years Laura has been working in a range of offshore renewable energy roles including coordination of offshore testing of the performance of tidal turbines, to the project management of a large international consortium developing design tools for ocean energy arrays. Laura is currently working with SMEs and academics to facilitate collaboration through the Knowledge Exchange Network in order to stimulate market demand in low carbon technologies across Scotland.
Tom Bent, Business Development Manager
Tom is a wholesale energy market expert, working as an independent consultant for a variety of clients including the ETP. Tom will work alongside Laura Finlay in the Energy Efficiency in Buildings theme, providing business development support. Prior to becoming a consultant Tom worked as a trader and manager in the energy markets for 18 years, most recently as SSE’s Director of Trading and Operations. Tom is passionate about supporting the evolution of energy markets towards a more efficient and lower carbon future, and helping commercialise bright ideas.
