University of Strathclyde - Appointment to boost smart grid technology developments

Strathclyde academic Professor Keith Bell has been appointed to the ScottishPower Chair in Smart Grid Technology – a new role that will build on the relationship and support research, development and knowledge exchange in the smart grid domain.

Professor Bell’s appointment will enhance a long-standing relationship with the University and the energy company, with ScottishPower playing a key role in the University’s £89 million Technology and Innovation Centre and the Power Networks Demonstration Centre (PNDC) – the first centre of its kind in Europe.
