New ETP Project Manager

We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Brian Cross as our new Project Manager.

Brian has a wealth of experience in the HE Sector (built up during a highly successful 28 year career at the University of the West of Scotland) which culminated in his appointment as Faculty Business Development Director for the Faculty of Science & Technology. His experience in setting up and running successful projects between Higher Education and the Scottish business community is characterised by many consultancy, training and research projects including for example; Paisley Innovation & Knowledge Transfer (PiKT), Scottish E-Skills Academy (SESAME), Institute of Engineering & Energy Technologies (IEET). In each of these endeavours Brian drove the project business processes from concept to completion working with senior academic staff and business leaders to shape and hone service provision that was tailored to business needs. In particular, Brian has worked with numerous Scottish SMEs helping then to access HE based expertise and work with academic staff to develop new products & processes that help them to be globally competitive through diversification and/or expansion.

Commenting on his appointment as ETP Project Manager Brian stated

“The ETP project is a fantastic opportunity for Scottish SMEs to work with academic experts through funded consultancy, sponsored PhD studentships and access to high spec energy facilities at the cutting edge of the key streams of the energy sector and when the opportunity came along to be involved I jumped at the chance!”
