This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a flagship academic organisation in a highly rewarding and stimulating position. Based in Glasgow’s exciting new innovation hub, the Technology and Innovation Centre within the Glasgow City Innovation District, you will be responsible for delivering the Hydro Nation Water Innovation Programme (HNWIP), a 4-year programme to forge relationships between pioneering Scottish companies and Scottish universities to develop innovative products and processes in the water sector.

You will work closely with Scotland’s HydroNation Chair at the University of Stirling, as well as with the Scottish Government, to grow the Scottish industry-academic “water innovation programme community”. You will also drive a programme of funded industry-academic projects which create innovative new water products and processes.

This is a perfect opportunity for a highly self-motivated Business Development Manager to make a key contribution to Scottish research, and to Scotland’s water economy.

Brief outline of the job

Working as a member of the existing ETP Business Development Team, you will be responsible for building mutually beneficial relationships across the Energy & Water sector that lead to impactful, income-generating partnerships with businesses and academia that broadly support the mission of ETP and the Scottish Government’s HydroNation programme.

A key aspect of this broad role will be facilitating successful business-university collaborations, identifying EU, UK & International funding opportunities for such collaboration and driving these bids to successful completion, developing networks, as well as stimulating innovative advanced manufacturing projects and cross-disciplinary collaborations that support energy research with other areas of expertise within the ETP university alliance. Although the post will be based at University of Strathclyde in the Technology & Innovation Centre, travel to ETP’s 14 partner Universities and visits to companies and related organisations, across Scotland will be required.
