NZTC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT)

The University of Strathclyde is a strategic partner in the National Subsea Centre, in collaboration with the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC) and Robert Gordon University (RGU). As part of this collaboration, a new doctoral training program has been established offering Industrial Doctorates (EngD) to company employees of companies working in the Subsea and Offshore Energy Industries. Two studentships remain to be filled for the 2024/25 cohort, hosted by the University of Strathclyde.

About the Studentships

  • Open to company employees who wish to pursue a doctorate whilst continuing a career in industry
  • A four-year program of study and research leading to an Engineering Doctorate (EngD)
  • All course fees for this first cohort are being funded by NZTC
  • The Company’s financial commitment to the doctorate program is ‘in-kind’ only; permitting the candidate 25% time off work for study purposes
  • The doctoral thesis topic to be a mutually beneficial research topic agreed between the Company, the candidate and the University
  • The candidates will have academic advisors in both Strathclyde (host) and RGU and access to facilities across both institutions
  • For further information and to apply, please contact Mark Robertson here.
