Background to this event
Increasing levels of Scottish, UK Government and EU grant funding being released to catalyse R&D across the hydrogen supply chain. The development of a green and low carbon hydrogen value-chain that includes production, storage, distribution, and use is a key pillar in the Scottish Government’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our energy system, industry, homes, and transport, while ensuring a just transition.
Central to success, is the further development of industry and academic R&D collaborations. ETP and partners are working together to support innovators to navigate this complex and rapidly-changing emergent hydrogen sector, with a view to support development of a sustainable hydrogen economy.
The draft Scottish Hydrogen Action Plan (Nov, 2022) sets out what the Scottish Government will do and how stakeholders need to work with each other over the next five years to implement the strong strategic approach required to support the development of the hydrogen economy in Scotland. It recognises that much work still requires to be done to develop the technologies and processes that will enable Scotland to achieve its hydrogen ambitions.
