Event Overview:
ETP, in partnership with Scottish Government and Scottish Development International, would like to introduce you to a Hydrogen delegation from Northern Germany and The Netherlands. The visit aims to explore collaboration opportunities, building on a new partnership agreement with Scotland. The delegation comprises of H2 Representatives from HEIs in Bremen (DE) & Groningen (NL), the Bremen Ministry and the HY-5 Initiative.
Academic experts on H2 Test Fields and the Northern Germany Green H2 Initiative (HY-5) will be providing information about their ventures, ambitions and opportunities for collaboration.
The event is hosted at the impressive new innovation facility at the National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland on 17th May from 12 to 4pm, where a new Hydrogen Centre will be opening in July, in partnership with Rolls Royce and the Power Networks Demonstration Centre (PNDC). The centre will be known as the Advanced Net Zero Innovation Centre (ANZIC).
About the HY-5 Initiative
The economic development organisations of the northern German states of Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Niedersachsen, and Schleswig-Holstein have joined forces to form the Green Hydrogen Initiative HY-5. The initiative aims to make Northern Germany the strongest future region for green hydrogen in the heart of Europe and to develop and complete the value chain for green hydrogen. Together, the federal states want to help establish Northern Germany as a hotspot on the European hydrogen map.
Scottish H2 Collaboration Agreements & Opportunities
The Scottish Government, Scottish Economic Development Agencies and Scottish Development International have developed collaboration agreements with Germany and The Netherlands for a wide range of opportunities relating to H2 RD&D, production, distribution, innovation, and supply chain development.
The H2 Mission is being organised by German HY-5 Initiative, and the Bremen Senator, Kristina Voght (ministry of Economic Affairs) and Christian Schütt (Advisor for Economic Relations, Ministry of Economic Affairs), supported by SDI, Scottish Government, and ETP.
This visit to Scotland from The Netherlands and Germany aims to support further development of relationships and joint-ventures with Scottish academics, industry, and economic development bodies and support organisations.
