This PhD project aims to model Selective Exhaust Gas Recycling (S-EGR) in gas turbine combined cycles and with carbon capture and storage (CCS), based on an engineering assessment of CO2 transfer devices, to provide the underpinning knowledge for pilot scale development in the UK. It requires a detailed understanding of the operational impact on gas turbines and on balance of plant, and will lead to the development of novel engineering options; for example, for advanced process integration and balance of plant considerations around the recycling loop.
